WHO told you ..?

Folks have questioned the site I built concerning this subject, but the site is being revamped. Well, OK then! If you never believed me before that I contradict the traditions of men, you will believe me now! So before I get all these questions, I'm going to 1st point to God's 2nd question to man directly after the fall. If YOU, Oh fallen man, can answer me HIS question, I will attempt to answer yours!! After the 1st question: "Where are you?", He then asked a question nobody dares to preach or teach on or even dare think about, much less consider: "WHO (capitals mine) told you that you were naked?" This article, then, is a book report addressing the very FIRST tradition NOT from the source of God: namely: putting on clothes! That's right! GOD was not the source of man putting on clothes. It was NEVER His idea!

FIRST of all, this question implies that it was not the Lord Who told Adam or Eve that they were naked BECAUSE He never considered them to be so!!! He created us the way He created us and according to I Cor. 5:1-10, Paul is stating that to die and leave this body is to be unclothed (not the garments we wear) and Paul wished to leave this body to be with the Lord but not to remain unclothed in His presence but the new clothing will be our new body!

SECOND: by this question we can imply that clothes were not God's idea because somebody else put the idea into Adam's head!!!!!!!! Ouch! ............. Oh oh!!! OK, there goes all the holiness doctrines that holiness means dresses down to the floor! It does not! Let me ask you a question before you barrage me with yours, WHERE did this idea come from? What idea you say? You mean you don't know what I'm talking about? I guess maybe you never dared entertain such a concept in your mind? I mean the idea of putting on clothes! WHERE did that idea come from? There are some groups of people that don't have the same learning and education you got who never thought of clothes because they live in warmer climates. What I mean is: originally, who cooked this thing up?!?!?!?!!!!!

THIRD: by this question, posed by God, "Who cannot lie" according to the scriptures, we can imply that not only was God indignant against the idea of Adam and Eve clothing themselves, He was visibly upset, angry, grieved, disappointed and broken hearted. Do you really believe a loving hearted God could hold back His tears at such a scene? Do you, for the life of you, think you can even begin to imagine the emotions experienced by our Lord God in the garden at that moment????? I don't think you have a handle on it. I know I don't. Of course, He was far more grieved at the rebellion and sin of man than the results, of which shame was only one result, but nevertheless: the covering up of God's image with fig leaves as a prelude to this dark, treacherous, deceptive fig-leaf society we now live in had to cast a dark shadow into the heart and mind of our Creator Who would later become the Man of sorrows acquainted with grief and our Savior Whose destiny was to be the ugly hill of Golgotha.
s
FOURTH: the question implies that there WAS an entity that DID tell them they were naked BUT IT SURE WASN'T GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow! Now that's a freeing thought! Maybe God created us the right way the 1st time and maybe He gloried in the beauty of His creation and looks at our bodies as wonderful and nothing to be ashamed of or afraid of!! Maybe (no, DEFINITALY) we should be regarding ourselves the same way as He does: namely, our bodies are good, not evil, and we should regard them as He does and He regards them as the temple of the living God just the way He originally created us. If we were made in the image and likeness of God, then why do we cover that image up? So, finally, here is the question the Lord really did ask: who did tell Adam and Eve they were naked?
It is noteworthy that immediately after asking this question, the Lord (Who was exercising great self control at the time) did not stop or even seem to take a breath before asking the next question for which He did wait for an answer. WHY????? Because He knew that they would not be able to answer that question at that time. Hey! Most people do not even have an answer for it after 6 thousand years! Not yet! They knew how to answer the 3rd question, but not the 2nd question. Why is this? Because they did not have a name for who did it. The only other person around them besides God was the serpent, but it was not him because it wasn't one of the things he said to them. At least it is not recorded in scripture if it happened later. So who was it? This is the question God asked to fallen man. So we must address it!!

If you are a true believer deep within I think you know the answer. Otherwise you may not. Even though you may already know, some of you are probably still upset because you have (if you live in the United States or similar countries) been conditioned contrary to what I'm saying that nudity is similar to sin, not dissimilar. This is partly because the society that most of my readers live in sexualizes nudity when in reality clothing is a more sexualized item than anything. Nudity should be our natural everyday state (unless, of course, there is inclement weather, or you may catch cold), not associated with sexuality! In reality we are sexual beings whether clothed or not. The real problem why folks fall into fornication and sex outside of marriage is that hearts are AWAY FROM GOD, not being clothed or unclothed. Actually lust (which is covetousness) is better developed under the hidden covers of clothing than not under them!!

Here I will quote Rebecca St. James although, if she knew I was quoting her to support such ideas she might not appreciate it. She said "if you have no secrets, you have no lies." Wow! What a statement! Paul said God will judge the secrets of men. Yes, I do agree that we must wear clothes where the law of the land requires it because the scripture says to abide by civil law for the most part. OK, yeah, I realize we live in a society where you have to keep your social security number secret and your house locked up and this is part of the reasoning as to why folks say we should all wear clothes because otherwise there would be more lust in the world. But this is not true. If you wish to write me about these things, that's OK. My email is at the bottom of this page. However, some questions I may answer and some I may not. For some of them there are books written, such as those written by author
Michael McGrath on the subject. One of facts, however, he points out in his "Epiphany" book is that a porn dealer would not go to one of the tribes in Africa or South America where they run around naked to peddle their product because they would not get a toehold there!! Absolutely true! But most of you reading this will still prefer to cover up because of your heart relationship of falleness, shame, secrets you do not want revealed and hiddeness. It is a well known fact that there is far less promiscuity and fornication in these tribes that are not aware of our "civilized" than what exists in our society (so much for the myth that nudity produces lust). There is far less child molestation, homosexuality, perversion, prostitution or fornication in those societies. Why do you suppose that is? Hmmmm, do you think it is because if someone has an occasional erection (which is a natural God-given phenomenon of male nature), everybody will see it and know it and there are less secrets of the heart hidden than in our far more "fig-leafed" society? Food for thought here. Michael's book uses the term "garments of treachery" - the same word treachery is used in Malachi concerning divorce which thing God hates. In Genesis 2 it is written "both the man and the wife were naked and were not ashamed before each other." How awful it is that there are some Christian couples alive on this earth of whom this is not true! What a sad thing this is! Such are the fruits of the fall. Society is full of the shadows, deceits, lies and hypocrisy resulting from our fig-leaf falleness. Remember: lust can hide better in the dark and get away with it than in the noon day sun of the light.

It would be my guess that most of my readers have figured out by this time who the WHO is that was pointed to by God's 2nd question to man after the fall. It was obviously some kind of satanic or demonic disembodied spirit (unless, of course, there was dialog with the serpent while still embodied that was not recorded in the story - but you would have to admit that dialog alone could never accomplish such an awful result upon the human being - it was and still is, rather, demonic direct emotional influence and is still continuing till this very day). It is possible the Lord went straight to the next question because the guilty pair did not yet understand about invisible disembodied spirits being able to influence the hearts and minds of human beings. There are many today even after mankind has become more enlightened on this who still do not believe that such a thing is possible much less a daily / hourly occurrence. Possibly it was because Adam and Eve had given legal ground to Satan by their sin and before that ground had been provided the enemy could not gain a foothold to be able have such audience with the human pair. But from this time on these awful enemies of our souls have had legal rights to influence, tempt and oppress mankind because of our disobedience to God and falleness away from Him. It was at this time the serpent was cursed to actually be able to enter mankind to "eat" us, so to speak in the curse to the serpent that he should crawl on his belly and eat the dust (which is what we are made from). Actually this was a trap because after Satan got into fallen man, Christ put on this flesh by becoming a member of the human race and took this fallen man to the cross and terminated the old man destroying Satan inside him!! He is dead!!!!! The Lord was always a million steps ahead of the enemy on every front! Hallelujah!!!!

There is another point here which is brought out by
Michael McGrath's book (entitled "The Epiphany of the Body") better than I can address it and that is concerning the design of the damages the evil spirits wrought upon humanity upon our 1st parents at the time of the first transgression. The guilt and shame wrought upon the guilty pair resulting in them seeking a covering to assuage the pain of their guilt and the shame resulting from their chosen pride. Michael brings out a very enlightening and deeply heart-searching point from the incident. They did not cover EVERYTHING OF THEIR BODY but certain parts more than other parts. It seemed the enemy sought to have them concentrate on covering their genitals especially and that which pertained to our reproductive organs. Why??? Well the book points out that it is because God is the reproducible One Who would multiply Himself into mankind. So Satan, knowing this sought to strike very deeply at heart of God by covering up His very image and, believe me, this hurt the Lord our God with such searing pain to no end that one day He became the Man of sorrows upon sorrows and bearing a cross of shame, He died naked upon it despising the shame, though not ashamed Personally for Himself as HE has nothing to be ashamed of!! Also He is not ashamed of us redeemed ones and in His death He swallowed up shame forever killing it and as Lord Death became the Death of death itself conquering it forever!!! Again, God is wayyyyy ahead of His enemy Satan!

So, who is Michael McGrath and why did I do such a site for him and be willing to be associated with it? He is the dearest brother I have ever known. Also he has been through more suffering, desperation, needs, rejection, depression, bondages and valleys than anyone else I have ever known BUT has come through it more than a conquorer through Christ proving that where sin abounded grace did MUCH MORE abound! Many of his past struggles (and many other folks too - in fact -all of us) were based on deep rooted shame which, in his case, were amplified becuase of the abusive hatred that was just poured upon him by abusive pareents causing a deep self loathing.. It has been my discovery that shame goes soooo deep within because it is just about married to and mingled with our pride which is the root of all our unbelief which is the root of every sin. In other words, if you deal with the stinking pride of man, you just about solved the whole problem. Only the New Covenant grace of God writing His new nature into us and writing His laws within our hearts can change us and set us free. But as Paul wrote: when we suffer things and get comforted, then we are enabled to comfort others in the same way along the same lines we ourselves have been saved, delivered, healed or whatever it is.

So this has brought up a question lately in my mind. If the scripture says "He that believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.", then why are so many Christians still struggling with and dealing with it? But, if you carefully read the passage where this statement is found (1st 5 chapters of Romans) in it's context, you will discover that the Christian life has a progression and it's true progression is based upon walking by faith and it is from "faith to faith" as Paul points out. Since faith comes by HEARING, I would say the lack of hearing is why faith is deficient. The solution to this problem is that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God! Even as the Father told the 3 disciples on the transfiguration mount: "HEAR YE HIM." Many of our possessions in Christ are past, some are ongoing claims and some are future. Such the statement: "shall not be ashamed". There is much much more to this subject of course. Believe me, Michael McGrath did a VERY thourough study of the facts of this subject in both the old and new testaments and covers just about every scripture on the subject that folk use to point out the contrary.
